Halloween

Since we have no Trick-or-Treat kids at our house we went to Amber and Jerad's and shared in the excitement at their house.

Rylie was so patient as she was trying to keep these 2 little ones still for a picture.



 

Halloween Party

This year the Halloween Party was at Jennifer and Will's house. Jennie had the house decorated for the event and there was some fun and delicious food. Here's the event in pictures...

 

 

This is the pumpkin that Will carved. Soooo, how did he get the flames? He has this handy dandy little torch that he uses for starting campfires, lighting briquet's and etc. He cut a small whole in the back of the pumpkin and lite the torch inside. Wow, what an effect that made!!!

Lower Granite Lock and Dam

We are on Field Trip #2. This time we are headed up to Lower Granite Lock and Dam. I guess the boys figure if they are not out catching the fish they at least want to see them going up the fish ladder. Remember, it's all about FISH!

As we get closer to the dam we see what was once a very nice house. We are miles from town and again, I wonder about the story. Who used to live way out here and why?

Inside we learn a little about navigating the river and then...

it's on to see the fish viewing room.

We were impressed with the number of fish we say and also the different varieties.

But what was really fun was to see  how the man counted and measured them.

Heading back to camp through more of this beautiful wheat country.

The Polar Bear

We go to this great little coffee shop called The Polar Bear. There we can have snacks and lunch and get some Internet work done. Since we didn't want Justin to feel left out I brought my Nook for him.

WIlson's Banner Ranch

We came to Wilson's Banner Ranch to get pumpkins and squash.

It was a fun place to visit with a great fall feeling.

Hells Gate State Park

When we arrived at Hells Gate State Park the trees looked like this.

 When we left they looked like this. Looks like we stayed right into Fall.

 We saw deer in the park on several days. They pretty much have a routine they follow every day, so I was on the look out for them.

 The last few years we have seen Praying Mantis at our campsite.

They certainly are interesting critters.

 Dinner with the Meyers and Parsons. Dave and Amy came over for a week so

David could get some fishing in.
