Lyon's Booth

Ron works in the Lyon's food booth at Civic field for the different sporting events. He thought it would be fun for the girls to join in the fun one night. They had a great time and even saw some of their former teachers.

Amazing!

                                                                                                              Before                                                                             After
The first picture was taken 2 days before Brayden was born. Isn't it amazing that those babies can fit into that tight little spot? The second picture was taken about a week ago  when Brayden was a month old. Also notice that Amber not only has lost her baby bump, but any sign that she was ever pregnant. No tummy on this girl. She kept up with her exercise program while she was pregnant and even ran 2 half marathons. Way to go Amber! Healthy mommy and healthy baby.

Amber's Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMBER!!!
What could be more fun than a birthday and a new baby. Lots of reasons to celebrate here.
Amber's friend Jen K baked her a cake and I brought over dinner for the occasion. Jen was a little disappointed that the frosting for the writing started dripping down the sides of the cake. But hey, it now matches the curly candles.
Happy 33rd Birthday Amber!

Amber's Baby Shower

Jennie did a wonderful job on the decorations. Since Amber is decorating the nursery with the alphabet Jennie used that theme for the shower.

The goodies and treats were not only fun to look at, but very yummy!

Presents and more presents!

Baby things are just so darn cute.  Amber got a wonderful selection of things that will come in very handy once this little boy, yes it's a boy, arrives.

Amy and Amber showing their baby bumps.
Amy is due on November 28th and Amber is due January 25th
Amber was happy that so many of her friends were able to attend the shower. Thank you everyone!

Birthdays

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY AMBER AND JENNIFER Amber's birthday is really February 8th and Jennifer's is February 11th, but we were in Arizona at that time. So, we are celebrating them today. Amber invited us over for dinner, which I told her really wasn't fair as she was cooking her own birthday dinner. She was fine with that and made an amazing meal. I wish I had taken pictures of it as she did such a great job. I usually do take food pictures, but I think I was so distracted by all the little details that I forgot all about it. We had delicious hors doeuvres with these cute little toasts, humus and 3 types of cheese. Next came the salad, where she had a nice bowl of greens and then dish after dish after dish of salad toppings to add to our salads. It was very colorful and fun to create our own salads. Amber is good about using her cookbooks and the main course was a recipe from one of her favorites. It contained rigatoni, sausage, capers, tomatoes and a special sauce. Yummy! I am so proud of my girls and what they can do.

Happy Birthday Amber

Here's Amber after the Mt Baker 50K in October. Today she turns 32 and is quite a runner. We are very lucky to have both our girls living close to us, but since we are in Arizona we will be missing her birthday. I know our babies grow up, but it's still important to be with them on their special days. So, tonight we will Skype with her and send our Happy Birthday wishes from afar.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMBER!

Baker Lake 50K

Amber and her friend Jen K ran the Baker Lake 50 K on Saturday. Yup, that would be 31 miles! My niece Jodie and I drove up to the lake and joined Jerad and Mike to watch them finish. Since the race is limited to 150 people it was a pretty quiet and relaxed setting. We had to cheer loudly as the runners came in to make up for the lack of a huge crowd. It was a perfect day for a run as it started out cool and beautiful. We had a great view of Mt. Baker.Amber was looking good as she neared the finish. She still has a smile on her face and that's a good sign. Jodie and I joined her and ran a short distance with her until she crossed the finish line. She said it was a good run, but there was a little more up and down than she had expected. This was also a trail run and some of the trails were very narrow, so she got some scratches from the bushes. And they do this for fun! After Amber finished, and had something to eat, she was still full of energy. So, we walked back up to the Baker Dam, about 1/4 mile, to get a picture of the mountain and to watch for her friend Jen K. It was beautiful there.
Here's our 2 happy runners. Probably happy to be finished and also happy that is was a beautiful day and great run.
