Christmas Ship

Bruce and Cindy invited us to join them on the Virginia V Christmas Ship and cruise Lake Union in Seattle. When we left home we were concerned about the weather, but it turned out to be a perfect evening. The Virginia V is a steam ship and the last of the Mosquito Fleet. It has been restored and is beautiful. There were many decorated boats on the lake as well as one that played music. We had a wonderful evening!

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

We had our first snow of the season today! It's beautiful, but came at an inconvenient time. We were suppose to have the staff Christmas party at my house tonight. We decided to cancel it and keep everyone safe at home. Sorry to miss the party, but now everyone can stay cozy by their fires and enjoy watching the snow come down.

Idaho Trip

October 18-November 4
Ron takes a trip to Idaho fishing every year. He goes with his friends Norm and David. They fish the Clearwater River. Norm's wife goes along and enjoys the Idaho fall weather and cooks for the boys. The men eat very well when Rosemary cooks. Homemade pies and bread with every meal. Wow, lucky men!! There are many firsts in life and this year they had a big one, as you can see by looking at the first picture. They were fishing a new part of the river and hit some rocks and tore a hole in the bottom of the boat. Though the boat was taking on water quickly they were able to get to shore. Fortunately it did not hit any critical parts of the boat and they were able to get it fixed right away. They were right back fishing missing only a day and a half. They had a great time. Good weather, good friends and lots of fish.

The Bellingham Bay Marathon

Jennifer and Amber ran in the first Bellingham Bay Marathon on October 7. They had been training for several months with Bellingham Fit and were well prepared for the day. However, the weather was terrible. The wind was blowing with gusts up to 40 mph. Both girls felt like the wind was going to blow their feet right out from under them on several occasions. They said running a mile was like running three into that wind. Fortunately the rain held off until about the last mile. They both finished in good spirits and felt good all through the run. I knew they were okay when they asked for food as soon as they crossed the finish line. We are so proud of both girls.
