Disney Cruise - Day 5 Back at Castaway Cay

Another beautiful morning on CASTAWAY CAY in the Bahamas
I wish I could join these so you would see a panorama of Castaway Cay. However, my camera doesn't have that feature. It's time to use your imagination.

A friendly seagull stopped by as we were having breakfast. He was probably hoping we would share.

Captain Hook was by the Post Office as we were heading to the beach.

Look at these two castaways just hanging out and enjoying the island sun!

Today we decided to go to the family beach. We went to the far end where is was relatively quiet. All the activities were to our left. There were a few families with small babies and children, so we had fun with them.

The water is as clear as clear can be. After we took this picture I realized we should have taken it in the morning. By afternoon the water was a little cloudy from everyone stirring up the sand on the bottom. Still gorgeous and so warm.

This is our last  dinner and dessert on The Dream. Can you imagine the sad faces? The pear is really  mashed potatoes. Pretty cute huh?
Yummy Baked Alaska for desert.
Here's the dinner gang:
Carole, Candy. Carol, Cindy, Laura
Nixen and Benedict

See Ya' Real Soon - A Disney Character Farewell
The Characters gathered in the Lobby Atrium for one last chance to take pictures and then gave us a musical farewell.

MIDSHIP DETECTIVE AGENCY
I think this was designed for the kids, but the technology fascinated me. Cindy surprised me today and signed me up. Since this was our last night on the ship I had work to do and miles to walk, or so it seemed as it took you all over the ship.

Here's the mystery: Well, I understand there are 3 different mysteries to solve. Wish I had started earlier and done them ALL. So much fun!! My case involved stolen paintings and I needed to find out who stole them. I went armed with my detective badge which did magical things. But remember I am on a Disney Ship and everything is magical!

Here's how it works: I walked up to a picture hanging on the wall and stood on the little brass button on the floor. That's what brings the magic to my badge and this is what I see first.
As I move my badge up and down and sideways it begins cleaning the glass so I can see what is behind it.

As the glass gets clear I see that Goofy has one of the missing paintings.

I
It then shows me the painting I have found and which characters I have ruled out as suspects.

A bunny and frog are wishing us good night for our last night on board. We have enjoyed them every evening.

As Mickey always says,
See Ya' Real Soon!!

Disney Cruise Day 4 - At Sea Pirate Day

Today was an "At Sea" day with a Pirate Celebration in the evening. As you can see we had a gorgeous day with very calm seas and nothing to look at but water. So, it was a perfect day to explore the ship and visit some of the areas we had not seen before.

Clubs, clubs, and more clubs. This ship has so many clubs that everyone is sure to find one that they like. I thought I had heard 18 clubs and that sure seemed like a lot, but once I started writing them all down I did indeed have 18 and I may have missed a few. They start with "It's a Small World" for the  3 month to 3 year olds to adult clubs like Pink, 687, Meridian,Evolution, Skyline and many more. Here's a picture walking through what they call "The District" where many of the adult clubs are located. Looks like Tinkerbell sprinkled some pixie dust to lead the way.

This is "Pink". It's designed to look like the inside of a champagne bottle. The glass work over the bar is by Dale Chihuly. What fun to see a Washington artists work in the Bahamas.

The Disney characters appear occasionally for picture sessions. What an exciting time this is for the little ones. Well, me too as I was right there taking pictures. We get a daily "Personal Navigator" which is like a little newspaper telling all the events for the day. One of items listed is when and where the characters will be.

The adult deck and pool area. Ahhhhh, relaxing!!!

The Mickey and Donald pools for the kids. Yikes, true craziness!! Notice the water slide in the upper left of the picture.

Having lunch on the deck outside Cabanas

Nyomen is so good at making our towels animals each night so when they offered a class for is I couldn't resist going. I better tell you what they are as some are totally unrecognizable.
                                             DOG                                                                      MONKEY

SWAN
ELEPHANT

They showed this reading area in a Disney ad, so we decided we had to take out picture there. In the ad it looked very comfortable, but let me tell you there was no way to get comfortable here.

On a ship this size with 4000 people it seems odd that there would be no one in the halls. However, here we are again looking down a long hallway with no one in site.

PIRATE NIGHT HAS BEGUN!!!!

Carol and Candy at the Pirate Night dinner

Food and more food and all very delicious.AND, I did not gain weight.

Tonight at dinner was the only night we could buy the light up pirate glasses. Since they change colors it made for a festive table. I just had to get one for all the kids.

Laura joined Cindy and me for dinner again tonight. Vladimir is the dinning room host and was really enjoying the pirate night festivities.

Night lights out on deck. Yes, that is a movie playing in the right picture. They have a movie showing there all day and once again, the schedule is in the Personal Navigator. The kids can be in the pool while watching a movie and there is also seating for adults.

The pools are covered over in preparation for the Pirate Night events. After the guests have sat and watched the pirate show and fireworks this area will become a dance floor.

A pirate show starts off the evening entertainment.

Topped off with the only at sea fireworks show. Disney always does it up big!

And a monkey made by Nyoman greats us as we return from a very fun evening.
