Thanksgiving 2010

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house we go... Yup, we almost needed a sleigh to get to Jennie and Will's for our Thanksgiving celebration. We can almost always see snow on the hills around us at this time of the year, but to have it in our yard was very unusual. Fortunately everyone made it through the snow, even Luke, who came up from Bellevue. Jennie and Will really wanted Thanksgiving at their house this year for a couple reasons. They got a new dining room table that would seat the whole family and were pretty excited to use it for the first time. Jennie had fun decorating the table. I am so proud of her as she has some great ideas.

Also, Will got a new smoker and he wanted to smoke a turkey. As you can see from the picture below it was a great success. Doesn't it just look picture perfect and it was soooooo good.

Because he couldn't get a very large turkey in the smoker Will also cooked one in the oven. Since we had a Mexican theme to our Thanksgiving dinner this year the turkey and dressing were seasoned with a Mexican seasoning.

The rest of the dinner was also very good, we did have potatoes and gravy, but also sweet potatoes, corn bread, corn, sweet potato barley risotto and several salads. Then there was dessert which was pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheese cake and pumpkin cake. Hmmmmmm!

Here's the Evans, Thompson, Becker, Sessions, Anderson and Bryan families

I always like to bring a project for us to work on. This time we made cookie turkeys. They were fun to make and also good to eat.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
