We had a beautiful evening on the Fourth. The moon was quite amazing as it was very orange.

I was trying to fly these kites in camp and not having any luck. I was about to throw them away, but decided to take them up to the fort and give them one more try in a good strong wind. SUCCESS, they flew beautifully and are now keepers.
My helpers, however, used this as a time to relax.
We have been coming to Fort Casey for around 40 years and know quite a bit about it. However, on this trip we took a tour of the fort. It's always fun to learn more about the fort and explore some areas that are now closed to the general public.
