We came for Fishing

The boys came for fishing and that is exactly what they got. This was probably the best year they have ever had as far as fish count goes. The weather was not as warm and sunny as usual, but perhaps that's what made the fishing better. Will, Norm and Ron are all smiles as they enjoy a day on the river.

After the catch comes the work. They clean the fish on the river, so when we start the freezing processing all Norm and David have to do is cut the fish into meal size pieces. Then they are put in plastic wrap, packaged, vacuum packed, dated and ...
put in the freezer. A few years ago we got this small freezer that we occasionally take in the motorhome when we go fishing.
This is some of the before fishing prep that the boys do. They keep the eggs from the fish they catch and process them to use as bait the next day. I'm not sure of the whole process, but they sprinkle on some pink egg cure powder, cut them in small pieces, let them dry and then put them in containers. All I know if that it is a very messy job!
Jennie and Will came over for a week and caught some very nice fish.
More happy fisherman. Notice Jennie does not touch the fish. She also doesn't like to kill them, so it's a good thing most of their fishing is "Catch and Release".

The men are usually to busy fishing to take pictures, but Jennie when Jennie went out in the boat with them she took her camera. She always gets some pretty creative shots.

Lunch break! They usually take left overs from the night before and cook a hot lunch on these cold days. Will's Uncle Ken and his friend John were there at the same time we were, so the boys often met up for lunch or morning coffee break.
FISH ON!!!!
