What a Trip

The boys leave for fishing at 6AM every morning. Here Ron is just as the sun is coming up.
Amy went fishing with the boys a couple times. Besides having a great time she was able to get some boat pictures. The boys are always to busy fishing to take pictures, so lucky for us we have Amy to go along with them.
Ron, Norm and David are pretty happy about this fishing trip.
Ron is running the boat to the next hole they are going to fish.
We love Idaho at this time of the year. The weather is still warm and the colors are beautiful. We have been fishing here since 1990 and this was the best fishing ever. We used to come for a week and that was never enough. One week turned into 2 and now it is 3 and it still is not long enough. This year we came a week early so Norm and Ron could fish "Catch and Release" before the season opened. Their first day out they caught around 40 fish. They said that was the one best day fishing for them ever. Of course once the season opened the fish seemed to know it and their daily numbers went down. Dave and Amy arrived a few day after opening day, so that gave them "another pole in the water" as they say. All in all this whole trip was their best fishing in this area. They caught around 200 steelhead and salmon, mostly steelhead. They can't keep the salmon and they can't keep native fish. The fun is in the catching and not the keeping, so between the 3 families we only brought home around 30 of the fish they caught. That's enough for some nice dinners, with some to smoke and some to share.
